“The Legend of the Bay Leaf Smokers…”
Based on a true story…
Way back when weed was scarce and people were desperate to smoke anything that might give them a brain buzz, there was a group of NorCal teens called “The Bay Leaf Smokers”. Contrary to what was rumored, this wasn’t because they were pot smokers from the Bay Area, which they were. But actually because when times were lean they were notorious for picking dried bay leaves from the Bay trees on their walk home from high school, and with a particular origami-like technique they would fold each dry leaves just so it was smokeable, light it, and puff away.
They would then smoke said leaf until their brains tingled and bodies buzzed for a short moment before the old “ice pick to the temple” brain pain would shoot in and stop the whole desperate deed… if only for a short while until the next weed drought.
Luckily, today cannabis is over-flowing in the fields and herbal harvests are bountiful in the hills!
