He went by the name of Bud-One, bombing beaches and skateparks from Capitola to Coos Bay. He rolled with a graffiti crew called “The Wavemasters” and they’d ride along the coast on their low riders with a backpack full of Krylon paint. Nary a trainyard, storefront or delivery truck was safe from this marauding band of graffiti punks.
In the 80’s, Bud-One made his bones by throwing up a legendary piece high up across a billboard overlooking highway 17. It was of a great white shark wearing a thick potleaf chain eating surfers with a fork and knife. He made all the papers and was heralded as the Graffiti King of Northern Cali.
Today, Bud-One is retired from artistic vandalism. He sits in his double wide trailer a quarter mile from the beach and looks through old newspaper clippings of his misdeeds. He still smokes weed however, because one hardly loses the taste for premium bud. He prefers to grind his herbs in Santa Cruz’s spraycan themed grinder. It’s a seamless grind and it reminds Bud-One of his glory days high atop “The Wavemaster” hierarchy. With a fat joint hanging off his lips he takes in the Santa Cruz Shredder Vogue Aluminum 3-piece Spray Grinder.
