Seal Appeal…
She walked to the wharf because that’s where she was told to go when visiting San Francisco. She bought a bread bowl filled with Clam Chowder because a tiny travel book suggested she should do so. When she was done with her soup she hopped on a boat to Alcatraz Prison because her Facebook friends said that’s “a must” when visiting the City by the Bay.
Then the ferryman fell ill from bad fish and everyone became stuck in an old jail for an extra hour or two… and somehow that felt right. People were offering her pot to pass the time, but when it came to getting high she would listen to no one. She sought out Gold Seal Farms because she was a sucker for quality and authenticity. She also loved seals and dreamed of owning one ever since she was a child growing up in South Dakota.
So it was that balmy Sunday afternoon overlooking her new city that she got properly baked. She would no longer wait in a prison of her own making or of anyone else’s. She waded into the frigid water and waited for the first seal to take her ashore. That never happened but she did have one the best sessions of her life.
