Cupcake 2.0…
That sound you hear like a ghostly hummingbird near your ear is Betty Crocker wagging her finger from the great beyond; shocked at the current state of desserts. Cupcakes have always been a confectionary mainstay in the American diet. A treat to be shared amongst friends or a reward for job well done. The same could really be said for a joint if you think about it. So it’s only right that Jade & Jane takes two of our favorite pastimes, cannabis and cupcakes, and combines them for a transitory experience.
The humble beginnings of the cupcake has been dated back as far 1796 when Amelia Simmons created a recipe for “a light cake to bake in small cups” in her book American Cookery. The origins of cannabis go back even further. It’s likely that Amelia never thought about combining pot with her sugary creation. But to be fair, Thomas Edison probably never thought about adding an Xbox to his phonograph either. Sometimes these things take time to time it all in good time. Just be thankful that it’s here and now, and imagine the places it is yet to go… Maybe an edible version of Baked Alaska? (What the hell is a Baked Alaska anyway?)
Speaking of being baked… Jade & Jane.
