Mind into Matter…
Where does creativity come from? No one really knows the answer. It’s a mystery for the ages. An ethereal impulse that drives us to put thought into form. To try and capture smoke in our hands and squeeze it into diamonds.
The ancient Greeks thought sensuous & sultry muses would bestow their mystical inspirations upon open & willing artists like rain upon a barren thirsty plain. Christianity and other monotheistic religions would claim divine inspiration for every church, statue, and paintings made to glorify their god.
For many throughout the ages, sacred and intoxicating plants were, and still are, used in ritual incantations and ceremonies to ascend one’s spirit to a higher-state of consciousness where they could then glean the gifts of the cosmos, and then translate the infinite to those who are unable to see the mysteries of the multiverse manifested. And of all these substances, one has seemed to be the most widely used to coax the muse… and that bliss is Cannabis.
”But how can I be creative like my artistic heroes, when every time I smoke I either want to eat the entire box of Chicken-in-a-Biscuit, or watch all of Lord of the Rings extended editions again…?” you may ask.
Well that’s where Pilgrim Soul’s new Creative Thinking Journal comes in: to help spark creativity in anyone, especially after you’ve sparked a big fat joint. Open any page and you are gently guided to grease the gears in your ganja graced grey-matter; to stretch and pull and prod your mind to new areas of exploration that may just inspire your next painting, or novel, or lyrics to your next song. Or maybe just simply help pass the day away in the best ways possible… high & making cool shit.
One page might present you with curious questions to inspire new ways of thinking. Another page may have drawing or coloring exercises to inspire new ways of seeing. Flap the book a bit and you’ll hear a symphony of pages sounding like… well, a book flapping (Ok not every element is equal). The point being, although these exercises might not produce masterpieces, they may just help start you on the way. As they say in the book “Think of each exercise as a gift to yourself”.
